WELCOME TO THE THUNDER WOLF WEBSITE!
This website supports the activities of the Thunder Wolf District of the Sam Houston Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.
The district comprises the southern half of the Fort Bend Independent School District and the Stafford Municipal School District. There are over 1800 registered Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturers in over 50 units in the district, as well as over 1000 registered adult leaders. The district was formed in late 2009 when the former Tomahawk District was divided into two parts. The new Northstar district comprises the northern half of FBISD.
As the website grows, additional features will be added. Initially there will be a district calendar, downloads, and forums available for use. In order to have access to the full features of the site, users must register and be validated by the webmaster.

Please join us on October 10 for our annual meet the Troops of Thunder Wolf District. With Webelos Woods coming up in November here is another opportunity to recruit Webelos Scouts. This is your opportunity to put your Troop’s best face forward and meet Webelos and their parents of Thunder Wolf.
Tables will be available for your use. I recommend that your Troop bring a display showing events of the past year or other items of interest. Please keep in mind that we only have a limited power supply for power point presentations. It will be on a first come basis.
I also recommend that you have some of your Scouts present to talk to the Webelos while you visit with their parents.
Parents, Scouts and Scouters,
We are reaching the end of another school year and with summer coming up soon, this is a great time for our Scouts to get Religious Emblem from the various faith based organization.
Additional information is available at : http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/awards_central/religiousemblems.aspx
Also more information will be provided in the upcoming Round Table Meetings.
Please contact me so that I can help you with any questions, clarification you may have on Religious Emblem.
Come learn what you can't get on the internet – and maybe win some door prizes!
If you have never been to a Roundtable, it has announcements pertaining to District and Council news and events followed by a discussion of ideas with other leaders about what works and what doesn't work for their Packs. Together we can help provide our Scouts the best programs possible.
This month's topics:
- Scout Fair
- Pinewood Derby
- Blue and Gold Banquets
- Special opportunities to celebrate SHAC's 100 year anniversary in 2014
Remember, this is also a great place to ask for ideas and help.
We are announcing the availability of the On-Line Camping Guide.
This guide not only will show you details about camping areas in the area (broken out separately for Boy Scout and Cub Scouts), but it allow one to post reviews and ratings about each camping location.
Anyone can add an entry (subject to moderation) as well as a review. There is also a cool map feature so you can see camping areas on a map.
This is a work-in-progress and only by each unit "logging" their camping experience will this guide truly sparkle.
You can reach the camping guide at http://thunderwolfdistrict.com/where-to-camp
This is a Doctorate of Commissioner Science Project by Doug Acker.
